Socially Distant Since 1969

It’s amazing how, in spite of everything that has gone in the past year, Lake Kipawa is still as peaceful, remote and beautiful as ever. We are back at Two Moon Lodge now preparing for another season, our 14th year here, our 30th in the outfitting industry and our second year in a pandemic. It looks like we will most likely be dealing with a season similar to last year with the Ontario-Quebec border opened but the Canada-U.S.A. border closed.

For those who were able to make it here last season, they found that a fishing and lake vacation was the perfect escape. The same Covid precautions and control measures we implemented will be in place again this year and our guests can feel safe in the remote wilderness of Loon Bay.

Some encouraging news: as of May 10, restrictions in our region will be lessened and members from up to two households will be permitted to stay in the same cabin. We anticipate we will be able to accommodate guests from Ontario and Quebec. This allows us to arrange cabins to accommodate group fishing trips in June and family vacations in the summer, as we did last year. While many weeks this summer are fully booked, we still have some availability in June and early July.

Unfortunately, the news for our American friends isn’t as hopeful as we’d like. We are in the process of speaking with our US guests and discussing alternate arrangements for this season. With the slow vaccine roll-out in Canada, it is unclear if the Canada-U.S. border will reopen later this summer, and when it does, under what conditions will international travel be permitted. We will provide updates when we hear any official news and encourage you to visit https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions for more information.

As both countries work through the challenges of this pandemic, we hope you and your family are doing everything possible to keep safe and healthy. We invite you to take a break from being inside and come join us when you can. We will be open, the lake is quiet, the fish are biting, and we have a cabin ready for you. We look forward to seeing all of our guests again before too long here in the paradise of Two Moon Lodge.
