Fishing Forecast: Walleye Heaven!

This has been the perfect storm of ideal conditions this week. The folks here are just hammering the walleye, with some of the best catches of really nice sized walleye I have seen, consistently catching and releasing their limits. Even when the cold front hint yesterday, the gang managed to catch a bunch of 20″+ walleye, showing that weather isn’t the only factor that triggers the walleye’s feeding instincts. Crawler harnesses trolled slowly in shallow and close to shore is what is producing for the groups who are here this week. And, it shows the health of the fishery on Kipawa too, when people who have been coming here for over twenty years still have as much success now as they did when they first started coming to Lac Kipawa. This is an incredible resource we have here.
